We are excited to begin a new year!
In Preschool, work is play! We work hard and play hard, and we get DIRTY. Please send your children in durable play clothes and sturdy closed-toe athletic shoes. Do not be surprised when clothes (and kids) come home covered in things like paint, glue, glitter, sand, and shaving cream on a regular basis. MOST of it will wash out.
In Preschool, we MOVE. We sing and dance, crawl, climb, roll, crouch, jump, shimmy, and shake. Our clothes need to do all these things right along with us, so please make sure to send your children in sturdy closed-toe athletic shoes and clothing which won't get in their way. Remember to make sure clothes are easy to pull up and down for independent pottying even if your child is not yet potty-trained. Avoid structured belts unless your child can use them independently.
In Preschool, we work and play HARD. We will come home exhausted! Please make sure your children go to bed early on school nights and have a consistent bedtime routine including a story. Please make sure they eat a good breakfast at home or at school every morning. The school breakfast is great, just make sure to let us know when you want your children to have breakfast here and be sure to get them here by 7:20 at the latest if they are going to buy breakfast.
In preschool, we SHARE. This includes every virus which comes around. If your children are sick, PLEASE KEEP THEM HOME.We work diligently to keep germ transmissions down, and we need your help!
For the first month of school, we will focus on “Back to School” and “Colors.” Our first book will be “Pete the Cat Rocking in My School Shoes ,” our color will be “red,” our number will be “one,” and our letter will be “C” for Cat.
It is an honor and a privilege to teach your children, and watch them learn, and grow in so many ways. Thank you for entrusting Meredith and I with them. They are a joy to have in class.
Sincerely,
Miss Linda & Miss Meredith
